Before I knew about Lorna Waddington High School I had no hopes of joining a high school. A friend introduced me to the director, Mr. Fanuel Okwaro, and since I had performed so well on Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exam I was given the opportunity to study without paying a single penny. At first I thought I was dreaming, but then I realized that that this was all true and yes, I had been given the chance to study and achieve my dreams. It took close to two months for me to get a sponsor. I lived in Holly House while attending Lorna Waddington. Receiving an education was the best gift ever received during my childhood. I graduated in the Lorna Waddington class of 2009. I am currently working for a dry cleaner as an administrator/account assistant. I am still pursuing my degree and my CPA, which I will achieve at that degree level.
I call her the friend I never met, someone who was willing to pay my school requirements without asking for a refund. I am grateful to this lady and her husband. I really wish I could express to her how much I appreciate all that she did for me, and all the effort she put in to ensure that I studied and had the necessary school fees. Sponsorship for kids who can't afford education and basic needs is the best gift that a child can get from someone. It trains them in how to fend for themselves and not rely on handouts. I am glad that I got the chance to attend Lorna Waddington and through the education I received I can now pay my bills with ease and live a dignified life. I am so grateful to my sponsor and to the director. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart I say thank you.
